Odlo was founded in 1946 by its namesake, Odd Roar Lofterød (Odlo for short) in Oslo. From its beginnings as a manufacturer of elastic, warmth-regulating cross-country skiing and speed skating suits, Odlo soon developed into a global supplier of technical and versatile sportswear for all seasons. Sport-oriented, slim fit for top performance

The close focus on outdoor sports is also evident in the cuts. As befits a base layer, the functional underwear is cut close to the body. Odlo takes its responsibility for people and the environment seriously. The company has set itself the goal of converting all its production facilities to renewable energy sources by 2030. Under the motto “Go for Green,” Odlo is working to reduce its CO2 emissions and increase the use of environmentally friendly materials. For example, recycled materials are used extensively across the entire product range. 63% of the products are manufactured in Europe (Portugal and Romania) and the Middle East, 50% of which are manufactured in the company's factories. The remaining 37% of the products are manufactured in Asia. All producers have signed the Odlo Code of Conduct – a strict code of behavior. In addition, Odlo has Leader status with the Fair Wear Foundation, which guarantees fair working conditions.
